The digital economy has transformed the way people communicate, work, shop, and access services. Digital technologies have created new opportunities for economic growth, innovation, and greater convenience, making them an important part of everyday life and national development.
At the same time, the increasing use of digital platforms has created new opportunities for cybercrime. Criminals can exploit technology to commit online fraud, steal personal data, launch cyberattacks, and disrupt business and government operations. As a result, cybersecurity has become a critical requirement for a safe and trusted digital economy.
In Indonesia, the rapid growth of e-commerce, digital banking, and online services has brought significant benefits but also greater cyber risks. Incidents involving data breaches and online scams highlight the need for stronger cybersecurity, effective laws, and greater public awareness. Understanding these challenges is essential for building a secure and sustainable digital future.
Here is the lecture material on the above subject matter that I delivered for Universitas Bhayangkara Surabaya, Indonesia.
